Yep . . . Pathfinder got it!! The Mystery Photo Post

(Although, TFOB was pretty close!! ::)

Anybody know what those little "C"-shaped cut-outs are for on either side of the hood latch?? ::

I saw your post last night and looked under my hood but could only see something that used to look like that. :: My "V" is folded over onto the latch housing. I am not sure when my hood was produced as I can not find the date stamp. I replaced the hood back in the early '80s. I went from a plain hood with a CJ hood scoop to a turn signal hood. fd

I always thought they were there to snag cloths when cleaning under there!

My money would be that during tha manufacturing process a tool is inserted into this area to lock the hood onto a dolly for painting and /or transportation.
