I was installing a shift kit in the Stang today. Except for the mess, it was going pretty good. It was alot easier than I had anticipated. Anyway, when I was torqueing down the valve body bolts SNAP! one breaks off. Luckily, it broke off at a point where I just removed the valve body and could take the bolt shaft out by hand. So, now I have to see if I can't find a replacement bolt somewhere tomorrow. Wish me luck! Update will be tomorrow.

Beware when things are going too well. That's when things seem to go bad. Good Luck tomorrow!

IIRC, those bolts get very little torque, much like intake manifold bolts.

In your shoes, I'd probably tighten them down with a 1/4" drive ratchet, holding it for very little leverage.

The kit says to torque them down to 80-120 in-lbs. I didn't have any problems with any of the other bolts. Oh well.
Yeah I do realize that almost everyplace around here will be closed tomorrow, but hopefully I will be able to find something somewhere.

Don't do like I did once and misread "in-pounds" for "ft-pounds."
