I was just informed that they will be putting up a firewall and running some software at my agency that will limit our web acces. That means NO MORE VMF!!!AHHHHHHHH!! What am I to do? Since VMF takes up 6 of my 8 hour work day, I'll have nothing else to do except work! BOORING!

Anyone out there know how I will be able to penetrate the firewall and software to see my favorite site? Any suggestions? Am is stuck? Say it ain't so!

You might be okay because generally the software is setup to block the adult sites. If that is not the case then you will probably be stuck working a full 8 hour day. Man does that suck. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Same think happened to me, I quit my job and started my own businees. Now I work from home, and spend most my time here on the VMF. Now if I could just make some $$$ doing it, everything would be great.

You probably have little to worry about, unless they cut off the internet completely. Most security software checks for site that advertise sex, games, gambling, adult, XXX, chat, etc. Plus there are some sites that sell web pages that are also associated with porn IP's that get blocked. Plus a lot of Chinese and Korean IP's get blocked.

If they set it up to limit adult sites you should be fine... but if they do it to limit hours on the net PM me ill get you setup /forums/images/icons/wink.gif. Check out my profile for what my profession is.

With that new software will come tools to measure how long each of the employees is spending on the net and where you are surfing - any way you look at it you're out of business (unless you have your own dial up account and just connect the old fashion way - outside the network)

there are numerous redirection sites that allow viewing of webpages past security, firewalls, etc. it has something to do with a proxy and these sites just visit the site for you and show you what you missed with their little frame on top to make the firewall think it's just their server since they're visiting anonymously. i don't know them off the top of my head but even if some of them are blocked there are literally hundreds of them and a search on yahoo or something should net you hundreds of hits. we did this last year at my tech school they started to figure out we were getting around their security and accessing uneducational content and blocked the site we were using and we found like 20 more in one day ..

anonymizer should work but if they are locking it down hard and you have a constant connection at home you could just set up a proxy on your home machine.

If its one like they had at my school that blocks out key words, and usually perfectly good sites, you can try this method and see what happens:
Go to the DOS prompt and type: ping www.vintage-mustang.com
This will give you the IP address, copy that, and use that as your URL to this site.
