I need to replace the oil dipstick tube into my engine. The old one came out fine with a few twists. How to I get the new one in? I tryed to push it in, tapped it with a small hammer, and tried twisting it a little and no luck. Any sugestions?

this is pretty common. What most people do, and what I did is to grind down the outside of the tube a little at a time until it fits snug. I used a bench grinder.

Use an open end wrench over the end of the tube where it goes into the cover. Tap the wrench with a hammer and the tube will slide in.

mine was chrome plated and it would have cracked the timing case had I not grinded it
