Firstly my car is a few miles away so i cant check it, but ive been called to say there'sa big puddle of oil beneath it. Right beneath the motor.

Can anyone give me the most likely cause of this? It's possible it always had it but where it was parked you wouldnt notice as it would have seeped into the ground but now its over concrete.

What should i check ??

From past experiences, I've had big oil leaks from the oil pressure switch and believe it or not, the fuel pump!

Could be a lot of things, examples:

Rear main seal...
Leaking pan gasket...
Leaking crank gasket...
Leaking valve cover gasket...

Once you look at it, you'll have a better idea of what's wrong.

The car was recently topped with trans fluid, oil and coolant.

The latter would be the best i think -at worst a new rad.

Trans, well, that would make all C4;s that have leaked ::

I hope its not from the motor.... ::

take a look at the rear seal on your intake manifold ,i just fixed that on mine. good luck
