I have a '66 with a '69 351W. i seem to have an oil leak coming from under the oil filler cap because there is always oil all over the spark plug wires. Why am i having this problem and what do i do to fix it?

You didnt say what kind of cap you have (whether or not its ventilated).....as engine get worn out, they vent gasses with oil vapor in them...if u have a ventilated cap, this vapor collects on the valve cover.

It's reduced when an engine has a correctly operating pcv system.

it's ventilated.
the engine has been recently (3 yrs) been rebuilt. doesn't seem like it should be worn out already. and if i recall it has always done this.
so, would i be better off with a non vented?

I think by 69 Ford had gone over to the closed system..the oil cap should have a connection where a hose gets attached and then attached to the air cleaner..all the oil fumes are reburned. If you are using a regular vented cap..make sure it is clean..this may require replacing it every month..

i know that the original 289 i had was set up with a re-breather from oil cap to a connection on the air cleaner.
guess i'll replace every month
