So I got the intake on and the new carb., it is an original intake, I finished up today and fired it up, no leaks while sitting in the garage, I took it for a drive and after putting it back in the garage I had oil laying on the timing chain cover, I am hoping it is the distributor and not the intake, I installed a pertronix dist. which has a rubber o ring and no gasket on top, I think it really needs a gasket on top with some silicone next to the block, what do you think?

the dist uses an O-ring and no gasket. if you used the rubber or cork end pieces on the intake that could be where the oil is leaking. i always use black silicone in place of those intake end seals cause they usually leak.

yea I used the o ring on the dist., it has been in the car for a while and has never leaked, but I did have it out for the conversion, I used just silicone on the intake ends.
