Is the oil pump drive shaft on a FE 390 longer than a small block? I purchased a car and motor was partially disassembled and the ones I have is short. A bout 1/2"-1" from seating in the pump.

ARP shaft - 7.458 in OAL
Older Ford Motorsports shaft - 7.435 in OAL

FE Block
Melling (Part number IS60) OEM style shaft - 8.533 in OAL
ARP (Part number 154-7902) - 8.565 in OAL
Precision Oil Pumps (regular length) - 8.626 in OAL
