Some days ago I posted a question regarding the use of the original oil slinger with a dual roller chain set. Well the instructions on the edelbrock sheet were wright : DON'T !!
I checked the clearance between the oil slinger and the crank oil seal and there was 0 clearance. So I pulled of the damper and the timing cover and just got rid of it.
Let's hope it won't leak .........

If the seal is installed right and the surface on the damper is in good condition, you have nothing to worry about regarding leaks...

Thanks for the update...guess those timing chain folks really do know what they're talking about...*G*
