Here in Fort Worth we're seeing enough days close to 100 degrees that I've decided to stick a crowbar in my wallet and air condition my 67 coupe (302, C4). It had factory air but one of the POs striped out everything from the expansion valve forward. All the vents, ducts, and controls are intact.

Talked to Vintage Air: they say their systems are not compatible with any of the remaining components. They don't handle the flair-to-O-ring adaptors anymore either, so my expansion valve and evaporator fittings won't work with their systems. I would need to install a Gen II for around 1100 (plus freight plus whatever other surprises come along) and hide their controls under the dash somewhere.

Well, I don't believe that's my only option, besides I'm still a cheap SOB.

Has anybody else pieced one back together by buying a new compressor, used brackets/condensor, buying a line kit etc.?
Is there another source I should be considering?

Thanks as always for your great help and advice.
