OK, continueing from yesterdays thread, so I want to get the old CA Blue and Yellow License Plates for my 1970 Mach 1.

Say I "find" a set of plates from that era, like maybe 1975. Is it possible to get those plates registered to my vehicle?

From the last thread, VMF'ers posted that they were able to register as classics in states out side of CA using old plates.

Californians have stated that they can not register the Black and Yellows (used through 1969). HOWEVER, does it make a difference if we are talking about the Blue and Yellows (started 1970)?

Thanks.

My 70 has it's original blu/ylw plates. No problem registering it. I believe if you still have them you can still use them. Same for blk/ylw, just can't get new ones.

You can only use the old plates in Califorinia IF they are already on the car, or you can PROVE that the plates you have were at one time registered to that car. Other than that, the answer is no. Goobener Davis doesn't like it, so it can't happen.

So what does the Dee eye see kay Govenor have against classic license plates? He is a loser ESPECIALLY with the SMOG check II. Have you seen this Nazi stuff in action? Talk about socialist / communist / leftist BS!

He's wrapping it in the safety blanket as those old plates are not reflectorized.
All I can say is that tell all of your freind that this is the kind of crap our governor is spending time fighting.

The other problem is that the 62 and older yellow with black lettering is OK to use on an old car. When does the black and gold become 'old enough'? Who knows...
