I am installing new door panels on a 66 w/ pony interior
and have a few questions about where to place the hole, how best to cut it and secure ( the remote switch) it to the panel or door?
I really would like to do this right the first time and any help would be appreciated
thanks donna

I just finished restoring SWMBO's '66 with the Pony interior and a remote mirror. The hole in the door panel is strictly a clearance hole for the cables and the operating mechanism. The screws are fairly long and actually screw into the steel door panel. The screw holes are just a punch hole thru the door panel. Hope this helps.

There might already be a whole in the cardboard, or at least a perferrated circle for the nob. When you cut the vinyl, cut it like a plus sign + then fold the vinyl pieces back and glue/tape them back.
