hi just a question i posed to the seller on ehay re the Vin# having the letter "F" in front and last behind digits in the Vin# here is his reply i have never seen this even on my own Boss302 Item #1835601511..any thoughts ..here is his reply

"take the F off and you get the fifth digit of G all 70 cars have a fancy F before the vin and after the vin i included it on the discription the car is a true boss you should have known this if you picked my vin apart thanks for responding i dont sell fake cars.
It is not a normal font "f" it is like a cursive or calligraphy style "f" take a look at your vin. it should be there. a fancy cursive f ,and then your vin. the f is not part of the vin but it is near it. "

Well, apart from the question of any fancy scroll or calligraphy letter "f" on the VIN plate - this guy sounds a little testy about a simple clarification. We are talking about the VIN plate on the cowl at the driver's side windshield, right? I'm at work so I can't run out and look but I do recall some kind of scroll work around the plate - but I would never mistake that for a leading cursive "f" in the VIN. Maybe the door tag - if it is still readable - would be a better choice.

Well, I'm more familiar with the 71-73's which have the VIN on the dash and yes, *all* of the 71-73's have a cursive capital F before and after the vin number.
It's sort of like a pair of brackets to encapsulate the VIN. It is NOT on any of the fender vins.

My BOSS does not have this "F" I have seen it however on older Mustangs.

After looking at the auction, the vin deal is a minor problem compared to the car being the wrong color and missing all the hard to get stuff. Think I'd pass on that one.
