Any one have any advice on what I might could do to make my 66 white mustang convertible look more aggresive. I am concerned that it will look to plain when finished. The car is in final bodyworking and prep for painting. I dont want to change the paint color but have not selected the top or interior color. I am thinking of the r model valnce in the front but I am open for suggestions. Any pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks

-lowered.
-tinted windows.
-shelby hood scoop.

White 66 convertible's with the black top, chrome wheels and big tires. The baddest looking convertible's out there. (Takes the girl-look out of em...OHHH, Did I say that?) ;)

There is a long list of things!! The same exact things that made them better looking when they were new. My personal preference would be the Shelby style side scoops. I might put a Shelby hood on it too. Chrome trumpet GT exhaust and a set of Fog lights is another way to go. And of course a great set of wheels with wide tires is #1 on the list. All of these things can be changed back easily so no harm done.

shelby stripes, flames, accent decals that outline c-shaped side intake. Also, tinting, big exhaust pipes, a little rake, some agressive wheels. (those cragers dont look agressive to me, they look flat!)

I think lowering the suspension, adding wide tires, and a nice set of wheels makes all the difference. A Shelby hood scoop also looks killer too.

i really like the ideas already mentioned. i had my car painted white a ways back. when i got it back i was thinking o man this car just doesnt look mean AT all . so i lowered it, added wider tires. some chrome rims, which ive since changed over to chrome cragar 5 stars. i also added rocker stripes, and a 3 inch cowl hood. i now want some shelby side scoops to finish it off. side exit exhaust would really make it look and sound mean too .

good luck with your ideas.

I would definitely second the R Model valance, also I would add a Roll Bar makes for a very cool look (not to mention the added safety and structural integrity it adds) painted to match the car .. saw one at CJ Pony's show this past weekend and it looked very nice with the top down ..

Lowering it and getting the stance so that the front end is just a tad lower than the back ... tires just tucked under the fender lips .... keep a good profile on the tire, i.e., not too much wheel or else it will look like a Hot Wheel. 15x7 on the front w/ 225R60 and 15x8 245R60 on the rear. Torque Thrust Ds with the spokes powder-coated black... and a black racing stripe centered on the hood and rear deck.... yep, that would do it!

Thanks, these sound like some great ideas. Where would be a good place to get the r model valance and would you suggest the one with the bumper or without. I am definately going to go with some good size tires and wheels. I kind of like the black top idea and maybe a single stripe. I am not sure if I like the lemans stripe on the convertible though.

Other than the Lemans stripes, the mods that made a MAJOR change in my '66's appearance was the R apron, lowering the car 2", and moving to 17" low profile wheels. I'm running 235x45x17" and 275x45x17" tread on 17x8" Bullit wheels. I've found that pure chrome wheels look better on DARK colored vehicles, while colored wheels look better on lighter vehicles.

Here's a side shot... the rear has been lowered a few inches since this pic.

Here's a nose shot of the stripes and R apron.

I hope all that helps! :D

I dunno which stripes would look best. I'm particular to red on white tho. ;)
