I've always wondered about these mufflers, what they sound like and such. Anyone running these?
I'm tempted to try them out, exiting the side of my 67 (just an idea...clearance would suck, might look shi**y, etc). I don't want a muffler that makes the car sound like a Harley like it does now (see my web page).
Summit's got them for about $100 a piece, I thought it would be different from the same old flowmaster stuff. Thanks everyone.

Lot's of people run them on the track. They are tunable and can be
adjusted to make the sound limit at some tracks. Not many run them
on the street because exhaust pipe rots from the inside out and the
pieces that fall off get caught in the suppertrap holes. If you run them
on the street you have to take them apart every so often to clean them
out. They do sound great.

I'm an engineer for Maradyne Corporation, which produces among other products, Supertrapp industrial mufflers. These are designed using the same principles used to create the performance mufflers that our sister company Supertrapp produces. We do extensive testing, and also test our competitors. We do flow, sound, durability, and dyno testing. I won't give my opinion, since I'm sure it would be viewed as biased (although objectivity is an inherent quality in any good test engineer), but invite anyone seeking more info to send me a private message if you want more information.
