66 radio has only 3 or 4 wires.... positive from ignition on, negative to ground and a little pigtail to the puny dash speaker.

If you use the metal strap to mount the radio in the dash, then that will take care of the negative grounding. The two wires that run together into a connector from the radio are the speaker wires. The other wire is the positive wire and you'll have to attach that to a fused power source that comes on when the ignition is on. Since we don't know what "upgraded" wiring you have installed, that's the generic information I can give you.

Ford dealer installed radios used the spike on the back of the ignition switch. The wire to the radio had an inline fuse. Dead easy to install.
