Can anyone tell me what the orignal color for the engine block, Gas tank and Rear end were? For a 65 Coupe T code or 200cid I6.

Thanks John

Hey, fellow Inliner!

I'm not sure about a 1965, but the correct color for my year (68) was blue... Old Ford Blue.

on a 65, the block assembly is black, I like the plasti-kote universale engine enamel. the valve cover and air cleaner should be orange or blue. Most all I have seen were orange.

The gas tank originally had a galvanized look to it. If you are restoring yours, best to clean it well and paint it with something like stainless steel paint. natural paint is too grey

The rearend assembly on a 200 is all black.

Do you think that "chome spraypaint" would work with the same idea, Charles?
