My friend has a '79 indy pace car that he just dropped $5k to have the engine redone with an upgrade on the supercharger from a stage I to a stage IV. The shop he took it to told him he would have a 12 sec car with close to 450 horse power when they were done. Yesterday they called him and told him unless he dropped another $3500 to switch to EFI, they wouldn't be able to finish the job because they weren't experienced at tuning engines with so high horsepower and still using a carburater. He was pretty bummed, and called around asking if any body could do the work and couldn't find a single shop! Any one have any ideas? I live in southeast Virginia and you can e-mail me at [email protected]
