It means that someone added extra-long spring shackles to the rear springs, which "jacks up" (raises) the rear of the car. This is usually done in order to clear extra-wide tires.

not saying thats not what it means, but gto's used coils in the back so to jack the rear shackles would not be used.

I hear it every time too. Shackled up without shackles, always makes me giggle a little

Are you sure that's enough to stop a determined hillbilly? :: We've all seen some pretty amazing things that people will do to their cars. Are we sure we want to rule this out?

Maybe they put the shackles on the bottom of the air shocks....
