Howdy folks, I need a Dupont code for 1966 Wimbeldon White.. Base Coat/Clear Coat...

the paint place I go to only has a Acrylic Enamel for the 1966 WW... No base coat clear coat... BUT they do have a 1967 Wimbeldon White BC/CC... would that one be acceptable? Or is there a slight color shift between years?

The Ditzler code for Wimbledon White in both '66 and '67 was 8378. That should be sufficient for them to provide what you're looking for.

Would that imply then that the '67 and '66 Wimbeldon White color was in fact the same?

As opposed to having the year AND the number codify a certain letter because it's "named" the same... (ya know, a name based on the year...)

The paint number (8387) tells the paint shop what the specific mix is for that color. If more than one year has the same Ditzler number, it's because that color carried over unchanged. Even a slightly different shade would have a different number or mix code.
