i am expecting a settlement soon (a school bus totalled my 99 durango and almost totalled me, too!!) so, anyhow, i plan to get the stang painted. i plan on pulling everything off the car myself (drivetrain, trim, glass, interior, etc.) so that its just a rolling shell. i'm just curious how much i could expect to pay for a showroom quality (new car) paint job. it's a california car with a few small rust spots, holes in the shock towers (thanks, PO), and it will be stripped down to bare metal (by the shop that paints it, not me). i know i can't get an exact figure from you guys, but maybe those of you who have done the same might have some experience and advice. thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom!

You could get a paint job that was equivalent to your car's original paint job (which isn't saying much *G*) for anywhere from, say, $800 to $2000.

It all depends on the amount of prep work that has to go into it.
