Can anyone explain where parking brake spring hooks to body? I have replaced some floor pans. Do I need to drill new hole? Also does anyone know if it is possable to shorten front parking brake cable, like soldering the ball in a new spot? Thanks

The spring attaches to two holes in the frame rail.

How do you adjust rear cables?
The bolt on the equalizer does that.

And that ball is cold swaged. Soldering or brazing the ball would be a very bad idea.

There is something wrong if you have no adjustment...are you sure you have it hooked up right? I've never run into that and I've dealt with some pretty screwed up brakes in my time *grin*

I think so. I'm sure there right at the drums. I looked at the parts diagram, it's hard to see the linkage and cables. Does the ball on the front cable go in the V notch on the brake equalizer lever? It seems like the front cable is to long. Stretched?
