Geeze Louise!

As many of you know, I tore my car down to it's component molocules in order to replace one of my rear frame rails and do a bunch of other stuff. I took the exhaust out as a single piece. I just unbolted the collectors, disconnected the hangers and dropped the pipes, mufflers, H-Pipe, tail pipes, and tips out from under the car and stuck it in my side yard where I've enjoyed mowing around it all summer.

Saturday I went and got it and drug it around to the front of my barn so I could bolt it back in. Well, duh...I put my axle assembly back in 3 weeks ago! I sat there and stared at it in disbelief. What was I thinking? I guess I was thinking the whole exhaust could be threaded back over the top of the axle like so much garden hose.

Looks like I'll be calling my buddy at the exhaust shop and telling him he needs to plan on redoing my exhaust. I think all that he will need to do is cut the tailpipes off the mufflers and put it back in as 3 pieces rather than one. One thing's for sure, I'm NOT taking the axle assembly back out just to save $75 worth of exhaust work!

Pass the Doffus!

I've disconnected the rear shocks, lifted the car until the wheels hang, and managed to slip exhausts thru...of course it depends on the exhaust

Hmmm. I just might have been able to do that yesterday. Now I'd have to take the rear bumper and the valance off too, because of the GT tips. I'll just take it to the exhaust shop. Maybe he can fix the GT tips so they stick out a little further. When he originally did them, he left them about an inch too short.

Yep that sounds like a big time Doofus to me. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/square/sqbored.gif But then I would be pulling the rear end off to save the 75 bucks http://www.plauder-smilies.de/puke.gif but then I am a cheep SOB and wouldn't want to spend the money. I would still be a Doofus http://www.plauder-smilies.de/square/sqbored.gif just with an extra 75 bucks in my wallet. fd
