I searched back 6 pages and couldn't find if the VMFers going to the show were interested in getting together for dinner. I'd be in for doing McGuires Pub for steaks and cold ones. Maybe Saturday night? Suggestions?

John Boggs and I are driving down from Atlanta Saturday, probably arriving Pensacola pretty late, around 10-ish. If folks are still out and about, we'd love to get together. Our current plan is to call Midlife on his cell on the way down and see what's brewing. He's down the road in Panama City, but says he doesn't know the Pensacola area.

I'm all for just setting a venue and making it happen, kind of like what the Knotts gang is doing. The McGuires pub thing sounds fine. Wadayasay Midlife, Bisher, LaurieS, others?

Is McGuire's within walking distance of the show field? Some of us will be without transportation...Saturday night is when we're all planning on getting together, batting some BS back and forth, and generally getting rowdy (Laurie_S will be lady-like, of course!). Look for Midlife on the field, and those of us wearing VMF T-shirts.

If I remember correctly McGuires is in the same parking lot as the show. It's on the north side of the lot, to the west of the Holiday Inn. I'm staying at the Red Roof Inn which is also within walking distance.

I think the banquet is Saturday night, maybe we should all go and sit together. if not, I'm game for McGuires on Saturday as well.

McGuire's isn't walking distance from the show so maybe that's not the best place to go. I also didn't realize that the banquet is Saturday night. Who's all going to that?

As for a closer place, I believe there is a place called Charlie's that's only a block away. I can scout out a place close to the show site as I live only 40 minutes from the site. We could set a time to meet at "Midlife" (I'm assuming you'll be bringing the car! The licence plate will be the giveaway - wait, maybe a flamingo in the driver's seat)

Macquires is a pretty cool place for a tourist trap. Must have 100,000 dollar bills tacked to the ceiling.

No idea what time we are coming in cause we have a tricky airport connection and I'm planning on driving the 68 convertible and I don't want ot push it too hard. If it looks like rain--the convertible stays home--not very watertight.

I figure Midlife will have it all set up for us so we'll just take his lead. Dickson is going also I think.

Hi Bryan,

I noticed the rims on your 69 Mustang. Are those off of a newer Stang like a 95? If so are the the same bolt pattern as a 66? I've seen them before and wondered if there if any modification needed. Also, I am originally from Crestview, near Ft. Walton Beach. My wife is from Pensacola though.
You might have seen my Father-in-law driving his white Toyota pick up around. It says "BASS MOBILE" on the windshield. He's a fisherman. I just thought it was nice to see someone from home on the forum.

I'll be over there early on Sat. a.m. with my cellphone. The only tentative plans I know of are to make a first "roundup" at approx. noon via cellphone. Seems RJ / Midlife has been voted the leader, or maybe his fastback the meeting point?
I don't care where we end up on Saturday night. I'm not attending the banquet, and will have a car so if anyone needs a ride to dinner I have room for 3. Dickson

Bart,

The 69 Mustang is a Shelby GT350 and the rims are the stock 15X7 inch 5 spokes for the car. No mod is required to run them and I have 245 60 15s on them. The front fenders on a Shelby have a larger front wheel opening with a rolled lip.

As for the meeting place at Midlife's stang around noon, sounds great. We could set a time then for going out for grub. How 'bout it Midlife, noon to gather and set a time?
