Need to replace plug wires; anyone tried Pertronix 7mm plug wires? Are they a good replacement? Do the boots fit correctly on the plugs at the proper angle?

I just installed a set, and I like them very much! I have the stock exhaust manifolds, and they fit very nicely. because the plug boots are straight, they made the wires a bit long, so if your into a super clean custom length look, you might be better off getting something else. They fit great on the distributor cap too by the way. In fact, take a look:

very nice Shanman-by the way-how do you like the export brace and MC bar? Is there a noticeable difference over that 2 piece stock brace?

I wish I could be that specific, but in addition to those I also swapped the stock anti-sway bar for 1" dia. bar and installed new KYB gas-a-just shocks. I can tell you this though, the difference is MORE extreme than black and white! Really.

I just recently added a monte carlo bar and export brace. It didn't make a HUGE difference but it's certainley noticeable. Every little thing counts. A few months before adding those 2 bars I upped the front sway bar to a 1" with poly bushings. That made a difference.

My biggest change as far as handling goes was adding new front and back springs. 620's up front and 4.5 leafs on the back, both with a 1" drop. Drives straight and handles like a dream!

Thanks

I have the Pertronix 8mm wires. They're good wires, but IIRC both the 8mm and the 7mm have straight plug boots, which don't work well with headers. If it weren't for my $50 wire guides, I'd already have melted a few down. I plan to replace my Pertronix wires with some angled boot wires, probably Taylors.

BTW the monte-carlo bar and export brace make a big difference. I have them on my '66 with 620# 1" lowered springs and 1" sway bar and that car way out handles my '69 with only the 2 piece bars.
