I was Doing some PM (Preventive Maintinence) to the 460 in my Lincoln. You know basic tune up plugs wires Blah, Blah.... Well I bought new Points and a lightbulb went off... These ponits and dist. look exactly the same as the Mustangs set up, And I just happen to have a Pertronix sitting on the self waiting to be installed on the Stang.
Here's the Question: Instead of Dealing with the points in the Lincoln can I smack that Pertronix in and buy one for the stang when I get around to it? Is it the same unit? They look like Identical, Single point systems.. Am I wrong?
The Lincoln is my daily driver so the stang can wait beside it hasn't seen sunlight in about a year anyway....I thought I would ask the VMF before I tried it and fried everything.....TIA

I would almost guarantee they are the same, if the deal fits the octaganol hub snug and then the plate can be screwed down in the right place for the sensor to pick-up the center deal then you can bet that it will work. Maybe Pertronix's web site has part numbers for the different apps and you can cross check, but the technology is so simple I'd try it anyway!

If I recall, when I bought mine, there were 4, 6, and 8 cyl models. Don't believe there were any car manufacturer specific models.

If the 460 dist. is a single point system it will work. If it's dual point, you'll need to get the appropriate Pertronix for a dual point distributor.

If you always do what you've always done,
You'll always get what you've always got
