Very inexpensive, I joined. I've gotten more than that much value already while it was free. It works, give them the $10.

May 1, 2001, Photopoint.com will charge $9.95 per year. Got the E-mail today. At that price, it might as well be free. Up to 1,000 photos. It would take me more than $10.00 in labor to set up and then move my photos someplace else. Just seemed like a no brainer.

Interestingly enough, their info page doesn't say what the "regular price" will be if you don't sign up by April 30...

I did note, if a member has 10 or fewer pix, they are converted to a "trial" membership, which seems to be free...

Russ- It seems that the cash-flow reality has hit the "Dot Com" entrepeneurs pretty hard. Those that will survive cannot afford to give their services away. A shame, but that's the way it is.

What do you get for ten bucks? Are there limits to the number/quality of the photos you can store?

BTW - What kind of wheel is that on your 67? Looks like a LeCarra - but I know that Grant makes one like it too. I have a LeCarra, but have not installed it yet.

Glenn Morgan: 66 GT V-Burgundy Fastback 351w+toploader+9 in. TracLoc. Started out as a rusted-out Chicago-area crusher. After sacrificing a solid 66 coupe for its sheetmetal sub-assemblies, I have one solid (and expensive) work in progress!

Glenn,

Yes, that is a LeCarra wheel, good eye. I need to change the Cobra emblem for a Mustang. I am very happy with quality, appearance and feel.

Follows is some verbiage I snagged from their offer to me:

PhotoPoint is charging for membership, starting in mid-May. Free limited memberships will be available on a trial basis.

What if I do nothing?

After our new Membership Program launches, and you have more than 10 photos in your PhotoPoint account, you will be prompted to upgrade to a paid membership, when you first sign in to your account.

What if I don't want to pay?

If you don't wish to purchase a membership, you can:

What if I still do not pay and do not remove my photos after the new Membership Program launches?

After our new Membership Program launches, if you have not purchased a Membership, and have more than 10 photos in your account, you will have a 10-day grace period starting from the time that you first sign in. During that time you can delete or download your photos. After that 10-day grace period, your account will be locked. At that time, neither you, nor your visitors, will have access to your photos. You will no longer be able to access your photos unless you purchase a Membership for the price it is offered at that time.

What about my SmashCast Movies?

Please note, after our new Membership Program launches, all SmashCast movies will expire after 10 days, unless you are a paying Member. Paying members can create as many Smashcast movies as they like within the year and store up to five at any time.

What if I have more than 1000 photos?

PhotoPoint Members who have more than 1000 photos can purchase additional storage space for $9.95 per 1000 photos.

Do I have to purchase online?

No, you don’t have to purchase online. If you would prefer to pay for your membership with a check or money order, please send your name and email address (PhotoPoint username) with the amount due to:

Even though you'll be paying for it, they'll always be doing you a courtesy. Or at least I'm sure that's how they feel. Why is it that none of you guys have web space with your ISP?

Sorry, $10 is $10. I just spent about 20 minutes and set up my free web page provided by my ISP.
