Does anyone think it may have been all the posting going on over here on the VMF that caused Photopoint to reject us, after all, everytime someone posted or their post was read their photos would be viewed, might have increased traffic? I am not really up on this stuff.I did have an idea however, some of you more knowledgable types might know more about, would it be possible for a group of VMF'ers to purchase web space together to host all of our pictures, each person splitting the yearly cost or whatever, and setting some sort of code to limit its use? This would solve all the problems with hosts shutting people down and the repeated searching and questions looking for new ones.Just my thoughts.

Jay mentioned there is a solution in the works for you guys without ISP's that offer web space...

A lot of eBay'ers host images on Photopoint so I doubt our miniscule traffic was even noticed....the amount of traffic a site sees when hosting eBay auction pix is phenomenal...I've seen the traffic logs for some of my auctions there (most notably when trying to sell the race car there)...

I think Photopoint is preparing to go to a fee-based service so they're closing up all the loopholes in advance of the change...

If we keep digging, we'll find something or one of the members will provide a long-term solution...

oops..sorry about the blank post;

Here's what I found out. Photopoint still seems to be working but you have to do it alittle differently.

1) Save your pic to an album.
2) Open the album and click on the thumbnail of the pic you want to use. This will bring up the larger version.
3) Right-click on the large version of the pic and select "Open Link In New Window"
4) Copy the URL from the address line in your browser...it should contain something like "Sequence=0&res=high" at the end
5) Paste this link in your sig with the "/image....jpg" etc.

Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down.
