I sandblasted my firewall today in preparation of painting it and noticed a few small pin holes outside the engine compartment. This is where the fenders cover....

Should I plug these with my mig, or use some type of filler on them. I am afraid that the metal might be very thin and burn a bigger hole. Thoughts????

We have a customers 70 AMX in the shop right now with the same problem. I etched the metal and smoothed DURAMIX 7040 over the pin holes. Block it out, spray your sealer, prime and paint before putting the fenders back on.Done correctly, it will not come back.

If the rust's all gone, paint with POR or Corroless and fill with POR's epoxy putty. Great stuff.
