can anyone tell me what kind of noise or feeling you would get through the drivline if pinion bearings were bad? I had a vibration problem and everything i've done has helped but i still have this hard to describe feeling in the driveline, something like a growl or a faint vibration around 3000 rpm, mostly noticable in fourth gear. i bought new wheels, had them balanced correctly, had the driveshaft checked and rebalanced, and replaced the axle bearings, that were definitly bad. Thanks for any help.

Any slop in the U-joints? It has been reported lere lately that the tranny mount can also cause vibrations. These are a lot easier to inspect/replace than the pinion bearings would be.
