How do you get this *^@+~*%*#&* thing off! My pickle fork can't get around the shaft it's on. I hope to hell it doesn't need to be unscrewed from that shaft as the steering box will need to be removed. Doesn't it just slip off?

Seriously? I don't have one and am probably not going to find one. Is there a more savage method involving big heavy objects?

I guess you could pound on it..but a puller will amaze you at how quickly it plops it off..see if you can rent one

They don't always just fall off.....I ended up taking the 70 to a shop where they used a pitman arm puller AND heat to mine off...

It just varies

I was able to pound it down to the threaded area on the shaft, but that's where it stopped. I guess I could rent a puller this weekend or something. Thanks for the advice guys.

I unscrewed the large nut and got a 2 foot long pipe
and set it on the pitman (after spraying aerokroil)

I tapped on it till it settled out of the crooves on the steering box.

this is how....
tap on both sodes till it drops....dont force it too much.
ease it out.
