I just installed a Flamethrower coil to compliment my Ignitor. I have 7mm spark plug wires. My Autolite 45 plugs are currently gapped at the recommended 35. Where would be the best gap setting now? I am looking for the best performance/economy combo. I have a 289 2V with a 3-speed manual tranny.

Try 40 or 45. IIRC, Johnpro runs his plugs at 55 but he has an MSD control box.

Left this out, he's running a Pertronix as well.

I have the coil, wires and Pertronix unit and 45's. I just put in new plugs and set my gap to 0.040". Running pretty good. Next time I'll try 0.045"

A plug gap of 45 works for me with the Pertronix ignitor and factory coil.
