My wife has been getting text messages from one of the candidates for the 2020 election.

She is not registered as a member of that political party.

Im wondering where they got her phone number.

I've been getting texts for some person named "David" for like two years. Not too often, thankfully, but part of my reply is always some added info about how "David" is getting an ass-kicking if I find him. They tend not to repeat.

"Do Not Disturb" mode on my phone keeps me from getting much spam anymore. I have it set to only allow calls from Contacts unless they call twice within 15 minutes. The spammers still leave automated voicemails sometimes but I delete them at my leisure.

I've never received a single text or call for a political ad. For that matter, I've never even seen a political ad on tv this year. Or since 2012. The benefits of Netflix and Amazon Prime for tv :)

So a few years back I got a call from a fellow in the middle of the night that insisted that I knew him. I asked him not to contact me again, as I was not the person he was looking for. He got nasty and told me that I WAS the person he was looking for- and I was just avoiding him. I kept track of his phone number that kept popping up, and then a few months later… I went to a home and garden show that came to town in Louisville Kentucky. I stopped at every vinyl siding, window replacement, gutter installation outfit, and roof repair, as well as every foundation specialist that I could find.
I laughed (sometimes even out loud) as I wrote his number on every free estimate contact card I could find. I haven’t heard anything back from him for several years since. Problem solved! I usually don’t share my best secrets like this with everyone – but somehow y’all are different. Feel free to use this method if it becomes necessary.

Ask Joe Namath. The is nothing Gov't run about a medicare advantage company. Its another Medi-Gap plan to take your money. Its overpriced insurance for the 20% with big promises, big profits, they bill medicare and they can and will drop your sick arse as you go down hill.

Broadway Joe is good at touting the perceived benefits but conveniently doesn’t mention the downsides which are many. It’s in the policy but honestly who reads those. It was a product of both the insurance lobby and a Congress that had the “free market is best” attitude. You know, health care being a privelidge and all. In theory what the gov pays them would be lower than if the enrolllee stayed on traditional Medicare A, B and D. What happens in reality is many of these people have to go on Medicaid when they do get a chronic illness or disease. It’s the premium cost from those in the program that fund these companies into profitability not the Medicare subsidy.
