Hi. I'm looking at upgrading my front brakes by getting some Porterfield R4-S pads. I installed a SSBC A120D kit about ten years ago. I believe I read somewhere that these brakes are essentially the same as the OE Kelsey-Hayes type brakes. If that is true will the following pads be the correct ones to buy? Thanks.

Yes, those are the ones. I have a set that is virtually brand new that I'll sell for $60 plus shipping. Send me a PM if interested.

Yes, I installed them in the spring of 2017 on ‘65.

I have those brakes and used EBC Redstuff pads on the disc from Summit and Porterfields on the rear drums from Open Tracker. You can definitely feel the improved braking over the original SSBC pads.

That's cuz the friction material in the SSBC pads is cardboard....
