I finally got the engine buttoned up enough to attempt a pre-oiling. Built my own preoiler, yup. I used a distributor drive meant for a 1999 Mountaineer 5.0L distributorless engine. I just welded a 1/2" nut down on the top of the shaft. I put a 1/2" socket with a short extension into my Milwaukee drill motor(high speed). I put a pressure guage into the hole for the oil pressure sending unit to monitor lbs/ sq. in. I even remembered that the dizzie spins counter clockwise! I started out slow and the pressure came up to about 10 to 15 lbs. I opened the drill motor up to full throttle and got an honest 50 lbs. of pressure! Then the pressure fell off and no amount of spinning will get the pressure gauge to come up any. :: :: Time to drain the oil, roll her over and pull the pan to see what happened. I had a stock oil pump with the heavy duty pump drive shaft. I guess I'm lucky that the engine is still on the stand and not in the car :p :p
