Generically speaking, you have what is known as a posi with a 3.00 ratio, not a great performance gear(but better than most cars that came with the 2.79/2.80 ratios), should be a good gas mileage ratio, good street gears are more like 3.25 or 3.50-for both spin your tire appeal and driveability, as opposed for strip gears of like 3.89/4.11/4.30 which are terrible if you intend to drive your car on the street.
