I have a under dash 66 model. It required 1.75 pounds of R-12. I am not sure what the 67 models require, but it should be stamped on the compressor tag. You may also find the capacity iin the shop manual...

At $1500.00 for a 30 pound cylinder of R-12. Your Mustang probably holds about $95.00 worth. Check the compressor tag.

I've charged several AC systems with Envirosafe refrigerant. It's only $10/can and you'll need 2-3 cans. The stuff cools the same as R-12 and better than R-134A. You will not need any system upgrades and it is safe to the environment. It is a hydrocarbon, not a flourocarbon. See:http://www.btt.org/ES.html
