Can the pump on a '66 PS system be replaced with a later model pump? I'm looking to install a roller motor with the serpentine belt system in my '66 and I'd like to use the later model pump. I'm sure I'd have to get creative at a hydraulics shop making up the hoses, but I'm wondering if the pressures are compatable.

I don't have the workshop manual to hand, but I am pretty sure that this gives the presures on the p/s pump on a 66 as part of the testing procedure. This way you match up with whetever spec pump you get.
good luck.

I did the same swap for my 64 1/2 and used the late model pump. I made an adapter that screws into the metric pump and adapts to the SAE hose to the control valve. Worked great and with teflon tape, it didn't leak. I sell the adapter for $25.
