I got my lowered u-bolts and spring clamps this week and they look pretty but I know they won't stay that way. How do you preserve these and other bare metal chassis components short of powdercoating? I have used various spray products in the past and still they show signs of rust thru the paint years later. What product has worked the best for you?

there are several products to accomplish that. one is called boeshield. the other is sharkhide. both work equally well.

If you do not use paint you are going to have to reapply the coating periodically. Here in Houston it is every three months. I'm not kidding. If you don't have a lift get one or spend a lot of time on your back.

Needless to say mine are painted.
