I picked up a pair of very nice vintage Year of Manufacture plates for the fastback. The paint is still shiny, except for a couple of spots around the edges where there's a wee bit of rust.

I'd like to seal them somehow to stop the rust and keep them looking nice. Any suggestions? I believe I've seen a clear powder coating before, any issues with applying a clear powder coat over 40 year old paint? Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Anything permanent you paint or apply over the old paint will eventually cause problems. A good paste wax is your best bet. JMO
