My electrical manual for my 68 says that the PRNDL connection is to a black wire with red stripe. Can't find any such animal. There are three logical looking female connections, coming off the fuse box pointed right at the PRNDL wire but none work and two of the three blow the fuse. I put my test light on them and none go on or off with the light switch but 2 of the 3 get constant juice.

When I put the OHM tester on the bulb socket I get a reading so I think it's making a good connection. Seems simple, what's the deal?

Thanks.

On my '68 there is connector with 2 wires blue w/red stipe and a black one. When I traced the wire back to the fuse block it changes to 1 blue wire as the other grounds with a small screw. My shifter light is always lit with either acc or run pos.,but the light won't come on with just the lights. I was told this is normal.

Thanks, guys, the Blue with red was the obvious choice since the male looks just like it. Not having the key in the ACC should solve it--if not, I'll be back.

Thanks.

You have it easy. My car was a manual, and the PO decided to change it to a C4 for his daughter to drive, but when he ha dit changed, he didn't bother to have the correct wiring for the shifter light installed.
After obtaining lots of advice here, I set out to wire my OWN shifter light! Now it works, after about 4 hours of bending in a very unnatural position =)
