Progress!..Finally!

I haven't touched one of my Mustangs in months. My back has been killing me and the weather has been horrible. Well after 8 trips to the Chiropractor I'm feeling pretty good. And the weather today was great.

I pulled the POS radio the PO iinstalled and replaced it with a '66 AM Radio, replaced the door wiring harnesses for the pony lights, replaced and lubed the window rollers, installed new hazard flasher switch and harness, installed new fog light switch and harness, installed new console wiring harness, and installed new gas and brake pedal pads. It felt great just to see my baby coming back together after I won that Doofus award for burning the Ameter wire all the way to the left head light. I fixed that months ago, but decided to rewire most of the dash to prevent future problems.

Tomorrow I'll put the new door panels on and close up the dash with about 50% new wiring behind it and HOPEFULLY no more electical fires, shorts, and burnt bulbs. Sunday I'll replace the wheel cylinders and maybe go for a test drive.

I hope to have it ready for the cruise to Palestine next weekend with the Shelby Cobra Association of Texas. It wouldn't be the same tagging along in the '91.

Just thought I'd share, thanks for listening

P.S. 66CoupeNW, I'll pull the MC tomorrow

Glad to hear your feeling better, I know all about Back Problems and laying on a cold cement floor or under a dash board is not the best thing for it.
I also have recently started working on my stang on a regular basis after it sat for about a year while i was Climing out of a hole and trying to buy my first house. Now I'm sinking back into the hole buying all these Mustang parts, Well I'm pacing myself. I'm going through my dash right also, I have taken my gauges out to install my white face overlays so since i have it apart i'm replaceing the Headlight switch and wiring my Pertronix to the ignition. I also have a Auto meter Gauge pod I'm intaling and I'm just baciclly going through everything and replaceing what looks to be a problem....... Ok i'll stop rambling on now. Good luck

Yea, cleaning up the electrical system is a good thing to do, after 35 years and several POs it's a mess in there. I've spent about $150 on wiring harnesses and only had to make 1 repair on the main harness, if it didn't cost $400 I would have replaced it also.

Anyway, good luck on you car.
