I had a great plan in mind, but hit a snag. I have a '65 fastback restomod with v-8 and manual steering. The steering box is getting to be pretty worn, so I was looking to replace it. I wanted to install the Flaming River box (not the rack and pinion). To make life easier and the car safer, I thought I would convert the car to the '67-68 short shaft box and Flaming river tilt column. That way I could cut the shaft on the old box to speed removal and have tilt wheel to boot.
Here is the question. The '67 box has a 1 1/8 shaft for the Pitman arm. If I buy a '67 Pitman arm, will it interface with the rest of the steering linkage or is the whole set up different?
Thanks
Ken

You should be fine with the 67 pitman arm and if you want quicker response they make a Shelby quick steer kit for the 1 1/8" sector shaft box also.

I think you'll need the Power Steering Pittman arm (with a socket for the Drag LInk). The 67-68 manual pittman arms have a ball stud on the ends.
