I have a question about the casting process for the '65 and '66 louver shells (i.e. the body color panel that receives the vent inserts, not the castings of the individual vents themselves)

Does anyone know anything about that casting process?
Specifically, I'm interested in how the transitions between the louver vanes were opened up to receive the individually cast vent inserts.

Were the transitions cast solid then cut out in postprocessing or were they somehow pulled directly from the mould with the transitions already opened?

Thank you for any information you can provide.
