My current heads are 1966 289 C6OE heads and I might have to replace one. Im having problems finding the same casting number, but find plenty of C6AE heads. Both types have the same push rod slots, press in studs, similar looking combustion chambers, ect.

My question is, if anyone knows, what is the difference between heads with casting numbers C6OE vs those with casting numbers C6AE?

I believe the C6OE head is a Cleveland casting while the C6AE is a Windsor foundry casting. There is also supposed to be a revised combustion chamber on the Windsor head according to the Bob Mannel bible.

thanks,

from what I have been finding there is no difference between the two castings. The C6OEs I have came off a HP block, thought there might be a difference.

I wonder why the C6OE castings are so hard to find.
