I am using an edelbrock intake with Fel-pro gaskets. What part of the intake needs RTV sealant? Between the gasket and the head, between the gasket and intake, around the water passages? BTW- is the red high heat RTV sealant OK? And should I use the gaskets that go at each end of the intake?

IMHO, use when using the rubber seals along the lifter valley rail, apply RTV only to the joint between the seal and the intake gaskets. When not using the rubber seals, use a 1/4" bead of RTV along the rail and slightly overlap the intake gaskets. Allow the RTV to "skin" before installing the manifold.

I usually use BLACK, but would also think BLUE would be acceptable. No offense, but RED/ORANGE is just "too chevy" unless, of course, you've got an old six-banger.

BTW....for those who have retrofitted their rides with computer controls, use "sensor safe" RTV
