I know you can retract a bid on , but what about just changing the maximum that you are willing to bid? I bid on something that may not work correctly in my car. I'm currently the high bidder with 3days to go, but my max bid is $20 over the existing bid. Don't want to withdraw my bid, just lower the max I will go. Is it possible?

Well, what happened was the item was listed as a 64, 65, 66 Tbird radio, and was taken out of a 64. After bidding I learned that the 64's did not have a rear speaker and thus the radio did not have a fader. There are actually three different radios for these years, and while they look physically the same, they are different.

I know, I know, should have done research prior to bidding, but I trusted the info the seller listed.

Email the seller and explain that you have made a mistake on your bid. He can cancel your bid so that you won't have a bid retraction on your record. Some sellers will do that, some won't but it's worth a try.
