I have a '65 289 coupe and there is a rubber seal on the top of the radiator support like you would find on 6 cyl. The car was built December 64. There are a few oddities in the car that show the factory was using up old 64 1/2 parts that month. (64 spare tire hold down in the trunk, old style power steering pump) I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a V8 with this 6 cyl rubber seal? Could the use of this seal be one of those model changeover oddities? Or perhaps it had a front end replacement in the past. Any clues? I have been told I should remove it when I detail the engine compartment but would leave it if I can confirm that it is at least suspected to be original.
