Going to have to upgrade to the 24-inch 67+ radiator for my 66. What are the upper and lower hose numbers? Are they stock 67 part numbers?
If you use a 67 radiator you use the 67 hoses. I also used the lower factory mounting seats and upper mounting bracket. I cut the core support hole out bigger to.
For me I just wanted the peace of mind and I’m still in the building stages. I’ve read posts where some have made the same statement as you have. I’m no expert but I would think bigger engine with bigger power would need more cooling. So instead of taking a chance of a stock style setup being enough to keep it cool. I decided to just go with the 24 inch upgrade. Again why not and it’s pretty much the same cost with either option. My question would be why you have to upgrade to a larger radiator? Overheating can have many reasons and I see people adding a band-aid without fixing the real issue.
Why?Going to have to upgrade to the 24-inch 67+ radiator for my 66.
1970 Radiator had the outlet on the driver's side. 1967-69 radiators had the outlet on the passenger side. Really hard to use a '70+ water pump with a '67-69 radiator....I’m doing the same swap. I have the drivers side exit water pump and my understanding is I need 1970 AC SB hoses.
I understand that. Just thought that if I use 70 AC hoses he may only need the same but for the 67-69.1970 Radiator had the outlet on the driver's side. 1967-69 radiators had the outlet on the passenger side. Really hard to use a '70+ water pump with a '67-69 radiator....
