I was just looking at some of the paperwork for my 66 cpe. The original owner bought it in the beginning of march, but the build date for the car was june 16th. Any ideas why? could ford be 3 months ahead of schedule or something?

I just ran the codes on fomoco.com and it says estimated build date is june 11 (not 16, my mistake) 1966

I seem to recall Mr. Speegle mentioning the date on the data plate doesn't necessarily reflect the actual build date of the car. My parent's '65 wagon has a data plate date of August of '65 but their paper work shows they picked up the car in July, '65. A less extreme example.
